THE ARUU FALL INCIDENT

Just like any ordinary day, I receive what we call the ordinary phone call from a friend.

The friend (Walter)  is a Rotarian (a rotary club member) of Gulu.

He was like, hey Engelbert,we have this mega fellowship event at Aruu falls and we were thinking you could provide us with 150 camping tents. Hahaha, let me remind you and this is a honest reminder.

All our camping tents had been sold out for that specific date, it was a sweet deal, and me being a reliable go getter, the adventure hustler in me was like, Walter say  no more, I got you loud and clear.

I was low key chilling bearing in mind that it could be one of those businesses that always come around but takes long to mature because of the client sourcing for better options, so no pressure. To my dismay a few days later Walter called asking for my bank account details so that he could make a 50% deposit, and boom minutes later there is this bank deposit notification. Damn, man have you ever been in a  uncalled for position, a situation you brought upon yourself and  you are like "how the hell did i get myself in such a mess". yes that was me.

Honestly i wasn't that expectant so i was relaxed because i knew probably he wouldn't be that serious and more so the logistics would need some time. Okay, the difference between me and someone else at this point is that i had to live up to the challenge, not to brag but i got cool camping tent connections, I made some calls and yes my other business partners responded and were willing to come through.

To cut the long story short, i came through with such a huge  number of camping tents, an addition of my tents that had remained in the nyumba256  adventure store and  others from a third party supplier (Tony). We had an arrangement that rotary club will finish off a certain balance immediately after the event.

The event was colorful, people from different places were present, I was excited we came through and did a wonderful job, the downside of the whole thing is yes we were given a certain balance but we didn't get fully paid because of the miscommunication and the disorganization that was present at the  Rotary Club camp. Honestly i was mad disappointed with Walter for the inconveniences caused to me and the third party supplier, but at the same time i was glad he offered me the business. My journey in the business arena is to learn from the mistakes and experiences i go through .This makes me draw strategies and come back a better person.

N;B Never take business losses or profits personal. Its just business, sometimes you loose ,sometimes you win.

I did not hold personal grudges because i had to accept it is what it is and i hoped we all part ways with positive vibes. I let the whole situation slide down the water fall as me and my team went for a quick swim ,laughed it off and hope for a brighter day, Remember its the nyumba256 experience, we explore, learn, laugh and do better.

and as the norm says,

pictures and videos conclude the journey...
